What other words did we miss for location. It’s cliche but location, location, location, it is incredibly important. Where you live directly affects everyday of your life. Do you want to be downtown or in a city core and near restaurants, shopping, and other amenities or do you prefer to be out of the hustle and bustle in and into the quieter outskirts? How important are the schools available to you, maybe you want a French school available. Is being close to family important? These are all examples of things to consider. This is your immediate environment and how you wish to spend your time will dictate where you wish to go.

Where Is Everyone Going To Sleep?

Consider your accommodations. If you are downsizing, you may only need one or two spare rooms for visiting family or friends. If you're starting or growing your family you may need one or two extra bedrooms in the home. Maybe you are taking in parents and need a whole in-law suite for them. These are all things to not overlook before someone ends up sleeping on an air mattress in the living room!

A Space That Works For You

Your home should make you productive. For some this may mean in a literal sense and you need a house with a great home office where you can have quiet and privacy to get your work done. It could also mean just the general feel and flow of the house as you live in the space. Maybe an open concept floor plan with lots of natural light makes the home a productive place for your day to day living, from breakfast to bedtime and everything in between.
