- Check your pipe joints for leaks that can cause rot/damage. Wrap the pipes around your hot water tank to help them hold more heat.

- Look at your roof on a snowy day, you should see snow. If you don’t, heat is escaping, melting it, and making your home harder to heat.
Doors
- Don’t overwork your heating system. Keep doors to unused rooms closed to prevent heat transfer in and out of vacant rooms.
Thermostat
- Proper management will help you save costs this winter. Using one with a timer can help you manage it easier, letting you set days, times, and temperatures. Set them for waking up, sleeping, when the home is empty, and when you are getting home from work. Set cooler for when the home is empty or at night and warmer when you are home.
Storm Kit
- Have a set of essential items on-hand in the event of power loss. Blankets, flashlights, candles, batteries, radio, water, and snacks.
