Market Update: December 2021
The Windsor-Essex County Association of REALTORS® released it’s statistics for the month of December and the Windsor-Essex real estate market continued to climb this past month. For those working with a Windsor REALTOR® and searching for Windsor homes for sale or viewing houses for sale in Windsor while the market remains brisk. Despite dropping below 2020 values for four months, December continued the climb seen in November.
For the month of December 2021, the average sale price for a home in the region was $575,069, an increase of 25.7 percent compared to December 2020.
WECAR also reported 459 homes switching hands this past month a 10.6% increase versus the 415 units sold in December 2020.
The median sale price for December 2021 was $502,131. This is the exact middle value when all the values are listed. This differs from the average as that will be affected by outlier data.
WECAR says that the activity market remains strong. Compared to December 2020, listings were up 8.87 percent, and at the time of the report 317 listings were active.
Finally, sales in 2021 were up 16 per cent overall from the year before.
