Community Events: Open Air Weekends Return To Amherstburg

The Town of Amherstburg is once again holding one of its favourite community events all summer long. This past weekend the town hosted their first Open Air Weekend of 2022. From now until October 2nd, 2022 every Friday starting at 3pm until Sunday evening the streets of Downtown Amherstburg are closed to traffic and open for visitors to enjoy an open air safe atmosphere. From retail to cafes to outdoor restaurant patios, the businesses of Amherstburg are taking over a portion of Dalhousie Street and are ready for you!

New for this year, they have added street games for the kids and for the kid inside all of us, with hopscotch, corn hole, street chess and more. Of course they have brought back the entertainment and activities throughout the whole weekend. On Fridays pop up bagpipers will parade through the Open Air footprint. Saturdays enjoy live music at King’s Navy Yard Park from 3-4pm under the Gazebo. Sundays are jam packed with Yoga in the Park at 10am in King’s Navy Yard Park, Storytime at 1pm hosted by River Bookshop on Richmond St., and more live music in the Park 3-4pm.
