Windsor, Windsor: The Catchiest Song About Our City
If you were listening to The Morning Drive with Mike and Lisa on AM 800 this morning you may have heard their chat about the Windsor Windsor song. They talked to the creator of the song Matt Farley and chatted with him about his music style and how he decided to write a song about Windsor, Ontario of all places. Check out that conversation and a snippet of the song HERE.
Farley originally released the song in 2013 and it alludes to a variety of Windsor references. There are the basics, of course we’re in Ontario, and yes we’re “way down south” as he says. Then there are references to Downtown Windsor and the big buildings, the Ambassador Bridge, the University of Windsor, Caesars Windsor, Highway 401, and of course being known as being “close to Detroit”.
As Mike and Lisa said, it’s an earworm and once you hear it once, you’ll be singing along to “Windsor, Windsor” without even realizing it. Check out the song for yourself on Spotify HERE.
