Market Forecast: What Will 2023 Bring For Windsor-Essex Real Estate
As we leave 2022 and enter 2023 many people are trying to predict what the new year will have in store for the Windsor real estate market. Buyers looking for Windsor homes for sale are trying to figure out when the best time to purchase is. On the flip side, sellers are wondering if now is the time to list their home or not.
One factor that both buyers and sellers are monitoring is the Bank of Canada. In 2022, they made various key rate increases in an attempt to slow and ultimately reduce the inflation rate in the country. These rate increases have had a considerable impact on the housing market and have affected how people search for houses for sale in Windsor as well as affecting sellers' decision to even list. With another announcement coming next week and the possibility for one if not more rate increases coming people are hesitant in the market.
So what is the correct answer? Is now a good time to buy? Should I wait to buy? Should I sell now or wait? Damon Winney, Broker of Record here at Jump says the answer is simply we do not know.
“We can predict the future based on evidence, we can predict what the Bank of Canada will do with interest rates, and we can take our best guesses at where the market will go based on the past. Ultimately though, no one knows truly what will happen. That is why it is important to operate in the moment. Real estate is one of the safest investments, no matter when you buy, over time you’ll succeed.”
