Places To Visit: Windsor Sculpture Park
We’ve covered both King’s Navy Yard Park and Fort Malden as places to visit in Windsor-Essex County previously. If you are looking for something a little different but still want to enjoy the sun and summer weather, we’ve got you covered with this activity.
Located along the Detroit River and running along Ouellette Avenue is the majority of the iconic Windsor Sculpture Park. Described as “a museum without walls, a unique park showcasing more than 31 large-scale, internationally recognized works of contemporary sculpture by world-renowned artists” (City of Windsor). The art pieces are mostly located between the Ambassador Bridge/Huron Church Road and The Art Gallery of Windsor/Church Street. Other sites for some installations include Reaume Park, Jackson Park, and City Hall Square. There is ample parking available along the waterfront and there is of course no fee to see the pieces. With paths winding through, you can walk, bike, rollerblade, or see the pieces in any number of ways. You can see Tembo, Audio Corridor, or the Inukshuk just to name a few of the sculptures.
