When the rankings were first releases, they ranked #1, the safest community in all of Canada. Then they looked at the numbers and saw a mistake was made and self-reported the error to Stats Canada. The town also sends out customer satisfaction surveys annually in regard to their police services and they consistently receive a ranking of 99% and "good" to "excellent" ratings in all categories from their own community.
The Town of LaSalle has two main arteries containing most of the everyday amenities residents need. To the east Malden Road has everything from dining, to shopping, and lots of other amenities. Exit the Todd Lane roundabout, and you will find three of the newest LaSalle additions. Starbucks, Home Hardware, and the LCBO are in new developments right across the street from Tim Hortons. Across the street is Malden Square where you can find local hot spots The GOAT, Koi Sushi, and Kava along with other shops and services. Just down Malden Road at Delmar Street are other amenities like Zehrs, Price Chopper, Crunch Fitness, and Kabobgy. Where Normandy Street meets Malden Road you'll find the Town of Lasalle services such as Lasalle Police, Lasalle Fire and EMS, Town Hall. This area is complete with a beautiful outdoor pavilion area and the Essex County Library - Lasalle Branch. Bordering the other side of Lasalle and along the waterfront is Front Road filled with beautiful scenery and green space. Gil Maure Park and Front Road Park provide an amazing area to walk and get outdoors. You can launch boats and jet skis from Lasalle Marina located right on site and Gil Mauer Park is also home of the annual Lasalle Strawberry Fest.

For walks and hikes, it is home to the Ojibway Prairie Provincial Nature Reserve and right next to it is Tallgrass Prairie Heritage Park. LaSalle is home to number of parks great for families as well. Heritage Park, Brunet Park, Steve Budimir Park, Front Road Park, and Gil Mauer Park, along with countless other small parkettes throughout the area offer green space for sports, games, and more. Want to hit the links? LaSalle is home to two public courses, Seven Lakes Championship Golf and Ambassador Golf Club. There is also the members only Essex Golf and Country Club. Intertwined throughout the area you will find a variety of paths and trails for additional hiking, walking, or running. The Vollmer Complex is another Town of LaSalle community hub. Accessible off of Malden Road on Laurier Parkway this complex has two ice pads, one of which is the home of the Lasalle Vipers. The Vollmer Centre is also home to Skate Lasalle, and Lasalle Minor Hockey. The facility has community space and an indoor pool where summer camps for the area are held. The Vollmer Complex is also home of the Lasalle Stompers Soccer Club, the Vollmer Complex Skate Park, the Vollmer Complex Splash Pad, and 8 baseball/softball diamonds.
