When a company like Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, Pantone, or any other company, their choice for colour of the year all have a similar end goal. The colours are what will ultimately drive trends for 2024. The Pantone choice typically has an impact in a wide variety of industries from fashion, to automotive, really anywhere designing takes place. This includes interior design but they aren't the only player in that industry with a colour of the year. Paint makers will also select their own colour of the year and this choice is more focused towards interior design and home design. When a buyer is looking at homes for sale in Windsor, one of the first things they will notice is whether or not they can see themselves living in the home and in the space. Colour plays into this massively and by keeping your house on trend gives those selling in the Windsor real estate market a leg up versus comparable houses.
Without any further delay, the Colour of the Year for 2024 from Sherwin-Williams is Upward - SW6239.
In a press release, Sue Wadden, Director of Color Marketing at Sherwin-Williams, talked about what the colour represents and means. "It brings to life that carefree, sunny day energy that elicits a notion of contentment and peace. With this color, we invite our consumers to take a pause and infuse a new sense of ease and possibility into their spaces—one that doesn't overwhelm, but rather establishes meditation and tranquility." (Sherwin-Williams, 2023)
So where can use Upward in your own home? This light blue colour with gray undertones is great for creating a coastal chic feel in the home by using it as a standout color in a kitchen or bathroom. Upward would also make a fresh and calming accent wall in a bedroom or living room.
