Beat the Heat at Windsor Essex Public Pools and Splash Pads
School is out for summer and the kids will be looking for some fun summer activities and ways to keep cool. If you have a pool at your home, you are ahead of the game. If not, we've put together a list of pools and spray pads so families and kids of all ages can stay cool and beat the summer heat!
Windsor Public Pools
The following pools are indoor pools and are open year round, not just in the summer.
- Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre: is located at 401 Pitt Street West. This is also home to Adventure Bay Family Water Park.
- The WFCU Centre is Located at 8787 McHugh Street
- Gino & Liz Marcus Community Complex is located at 1168 Drouillard Road
There are also a variety of outdoor swimming pools that are available.
- Atkinson Pool is located at 1981 Riverside Drive West
- Central Pool is located at 3301 Woodland
- Lanspeary Pool is located at 1250 Langlois and re-opens this summer after extensive renovations
- Mic Mac Pool is located 1125 Prince Road
- Remington Booster Pool is located at 701 Edinborough
- Riverside Centennial Pool is located at 6695 Wyandotte Street East
To swim at any of these facilties, children under 2 swim for free, Children/Youth admission is $3.00, and Adult admission is $4.00.
Windsor Splash Pads
The City of Windsor also operates Spray Pads around the city and they can be used for free! Check out there locations below.
- AKO Park located at 4270 Alice Street, this splash pad is adjacent to Constable John Atkinson Memorial Centre and features washrooms open during splash pad operating times
- Captain John Wilson Splash Pad is located at 3950 Ducharme Street and features public washrooms
- Ford City Splash Pad is in Garry Dugal Park at 1247 Drouillard Road, washrooms are available at this splash pad
- Forest Glade Park is located at 3265 Forest Glade Drive and has washrooms available
- Fountainebleau Park is located at 2960 Rivard Avenue
- Fred Thomas Park at Windsor Water World at 400 Wyandotte Street East
- Jackson Park Splash Pad is located at 125 Tecumseh Road East and has washrooms available
- Kimmy Lucier Splash Pad is located in Mic Mac Park, washrooms are avialable near the little league baseball diamonds
- Mic Mac Splash Pad at Mic Mac Pool located at 1125 Prince Road, there are washrooms available
- Realtor Park located at 1198 Homedale Boulevard, washrooms are available
- Wilson Park is located at 700 McEwan Avenue
Lasalle Public Pools
The Town of LaSalle operate one indoor pool year-round and one outdoor pool during the summer months.
- H2Oasis Aquatic Centre at the Vollmer Centre located at 2121 Laurier Parkway consists of the Jennifer Cole-Cheng Leisure Pool, a sauna, spa, lazy river and water slide.
- LaSalle Outdoor Pool is located at 1200 Front Road and will be open for the season, from June 30 to September 28, 2024.
Swimming at the Vollmer Complex is free for children under 2, $4.75 for ages 2-13, and $5.25 for ages 14+. Thanks to Essex Powerlines, swimming at the LaSalle Outdoor pool is offered for free everyday from 2:00-4:00pm this season.
Lasalle Splash Pad
LaSalle also has one Splash Pad that is free to use.
LaSalle Splash Pad is located at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex at 2121 Laurier Parkway. The splash pad is activated by buttons, when the buttons are pressed, the water will activate.
Tecumseh Public Pool
Tecumseh has one outdoor pool avialable to residents during the summer months.
- Tecumseh Leisure Pool is located at Lacasse Park at 590 Lacasse Blvd and features a waterslide
Tecumseh Splash Pads
Tecumseh has two splash pads avialable between Mid-May and Mid-September, weather permitting, from 10am to 9pm.
- McAuliffe Park Splash Pad is located at 2391 St. Alphonse Street
- St. Mary's Park Splash Pad is located at 12020 County Road # 34
Lakeshore Public Pool
Lakeshore features an aquatic centre with lap pool, lazy river, therapeutic pool and wading pools.
- Atlas Tube Recreation Centre located at 447 Renaud Line
Lakeshore Splash Pads
Lakeshore features 3 different splash pads.
- Lakeview Park located on River Street
- River Ridge Park located at 1100 Oakwood Avenue
- Atlas Tube Recreation Centre located at 447 Renaud Line Road
Amherstburg Splash Pad
Amherstburg features 1 splash pad operating from June 1st to Labour Day
- Austin "Toddy" Jones Park located at the corner of Laird Avenue & North Street
Essex Public Pool
Essex houses their recreational and aquatic programs out of their main facility
- Essex Recreation Complex located at 242 Talbot Street North
Essex Splash Pads
All 3 of Essex's splash pads are open daily from 9:00am to 9:00pm from Victoria Day weekend until early October (weather permitting). All three of the splash pads also feature free sunscreen stations.
- Colchester Splash Pad located at 100 Jackson Street
- Harrow Splash Pad located on McAffee Street
- Essex Splash Pad located at 60 Fairview Avenue West in the Essex Centre Sports Complex
Kingsville Splash Pads
Kingsville features 2 different splash pads
- Ridgeview Park located at 124 Fox Street
- Lakeside Park located at 315 Queen Street
Leamington Public Pool
Leamington features a 25 metre swimming pool and aquatic programming
- Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre located at 249 Sherk Street
Leamington Splash Pad
Leamington has one, very on brand, splash pad.
- Tomato Splash Pad is located within Seacliff Park at 12 West Park Lane
