For residents of Windsor, Ontario, American Thanksgiving isn’t just a holiday for our neighbors to the south—it’s a day filled with football, family and friends, and a shared love for tradition. On Thursday November 28, 2024, the Detroit Lions will take on the Chicago Bears at Ford Field in the 85th installment of the Lions Thanksgiving Day game.
The Detroit Lions have hosted a Thanksgiving Day game every year since 1934, making it one of the longest-standing traditions in professional football. Just across the Detroit River from Downtown Windsor, Ford Field in Detroit becomes a hub of excitement, drawing fans from both sides of the border with the Lions return to relevancy. The Lions come into this year's game having lost 7 straight Thanksgiving Day games but are aiming to end that slump this year versus the Bears.
Thinking of crossing the border to catch the action? Get ready to open up your wallet. The cheapest ticket available on Ticketmaster is selling for $244 USD and that doesn't even get you a seat, those tickets are Standing Room Only.
