One of Windsor's favourite holiday event is officially back! Bright Lights Windsor held its opening ceremonies on November 29th and will run every night from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. until January 7th, 2025 at Jackson Park in Downtown Windsor.
This year will have a variety of themed zones including Northern Lights, The Enchanted Children’s Village, Wish Upon a Star, W.E. the North, Candy Cane Lane, Merry and Bright, Santa’s Workshop, Winter Wonderland, and Peace and Love Around the World. The W.E. Made It: Holiday Market returns this year as well. The full market will run on Fridays and Saturdays, with a partial market with local food and beverages open during the week. Part of Bright Lights Windsor this year is Sensory friendly “Silent Nights”. On Monday evenings the lights will be on, but sound will be muted and strobe elements paused so the displays can be enjoyed in a welcoming environment that is accommodating to sensory sensitivities. So what's new for Bright Lights Windsor this year? There will be a brand new themed area called Northern Lights. Located on the north side of Jackson Park, this new area features diffused lighting in purple, green, blue and magenta; and a variety of cool-toned large-scale displays designed to recreate the Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights. This area will also include an inflatable igloo tunnel featuring aurora projection lighting, an exciting new photo opportunity for visitors. Also new this year is The Chalet. Located inside the vendor market, The Chalet is spacious tent furnished with cozy décor creating a warm and relaxing space for visitors to relax, enjoy some food or drinks from the market and warm-up. Also new this year is Henry, a giant 17-foot-tall moose. Finally, don't forget to the iconic tree at the centre of it all. The synchronized music and light show returns so be sure to stick around to watch and enjoy the show.
