So far we have covered Bright Lights Windsor and LaSalle Holiday Lights Heritage Nights. Next up, let's travel out to Amherstburg for their annual River Lights Winter Festival.
From now until January 5, 2025, every night, hundreds of customized LED light displays light up the town’s two main parks. King’s Navy Yard Park, along the Detroit River, on Dalhousie Street features traditional displays like carolers, angels, and more. Head down to Toddy Jones Park on North Street to see more whimsical, playful displays for the kids and the kid at heart to enjoy.
There are two new additions to the River Lights Winter Festival this year. First up is the Gingerbread Warming House at Toddy Jones Park. On weekend night from 5:30pm – 8:30pm until December 22nd, you can head inside to do arts and crafts and warm up with a cup of hot chocolate. On Sunday at 6:00pm there will be holiday story time for young listeners to enjoy while they sip on their hot coco.
On December 13, the town will host Santa Shout Out. The event will take place from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and Santa's secret elves wearing headlamp hats will collect necessary information from parents to share with Santa and he will reveal your child’s Christmas wish from the Amherstburg snow globe. Be sure to arrive early and look for the elves!
