How We’re Responding to COVID-19
The way we live our lives has been changed drastically. We’re now nearly 8 months into this new way of living. We’ve all needed to adapt and change our lives and how we operate day-to-day. When our region went into lockdown to try to flatten the curve, only essential services were allowed to continue operating. The government of Ontario deemed real estate, meaning us here at Jump Realty, an essential service. We’ve remained open as much as possible while remaining safe to assist people who still needed real estate help.
How have we done this? Let’s start at the office level. Whether you visit us in Windsor, Tecumseh, or Kingsville, all of our offices have health and safety protocols in place. We follow all the medical advice from the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit as well as from both the provincial and federal governments. First we’re limiting visits to the office in the first place. All of our agents are urged to work remotely as much as possible and visit the office only when necessary, by limiting the amount of people in the office we are limiting the risks. Next all agents and visitors are required to sanitize their hands upon entry and masks are required to be worn in any common area and when in the presence of others. We’ve also enhanced cleaning protocols. Any agent working in the office is required to disinfect their work areas when they are exiting the office. All high touch surfaces in the office as well as agent work areas are disinfected everyday at 9:00am, 12:00pm, and 3:00pm. Social distancing rules are also in place. Work stations have been minimized to ensure everyone in the building is 6 feet away from each other. If you do decide to visit us or need to stop in to any of our offices, you can do so with peace of mind.
We’ve also taken measures to ensure that as our agents go about their business everyone remains as safe as possible. If you are looking to buy a home or sell your current home, Jump Realty has taken all the necessary steps to ensure that you do so safely if you work with us. Following the directions again from the WECHU, government bodies, as well as CREA and OREA, we take every required step to ensure the safety of the process. All required paperwork and waivers is mandatory for all of our agents regardless if they are on the buying or selling side. When on the selling side, they will ensure other agents also fill out the required paperwork. While CREA, OREA, and Jump Realty itself urge against open houses, you may still want to do one as a seller or go through one as a buyer. We have installed measures to ensure everyone’s safety for these situations. As a seller full contact tracing is provided. We also limit the number of people in the house to 3, our agent plus a maximum of 2 visitors. We ensure they are always monitored, they are not free to roam the house. Our agents will stage the home ahead of time, i.e. opening all doors, turning on all lights, etc. We also use a two agent system so no one can walk into the house during a tour. As a buyer, our agents will require you to wear a mask while walking through and to keep touching to a minimum to show the same respect we ask of visitors in our listings. In both cases we will also ask a series of screening questions to ensure that all visitors have risk levels minimized.
We know this time has been challenging and constantly evolving. As a brokerage we are able to quickly pivot and alter our path as required by the situation. All of our agents are held to the highest standards when it comes to the health and safety of their fellow co-workers, their clients, and the general public. Our promise has always been to provide a superior real estate experience and during pandemic that does not change.
