Each year, the colour company Pantone selects one colour to be their Colour of the Year. The colour they choose represents the trends of culture, society, travel, and more. For the year 2020, Pantone selected Classic Blue as the Colour of the Year. They describe it as "a timeless and enduring blue" that's "suggestive of the sky at dusk".

It turns out that this simple, rich, dark blue colour was a hit among interior designers as well. One interior designer likes the colour as a strong accent colour in a room suggesting it goes best on a large piece of furniture that you can then accompany with warmer colours to tie it together. He said that depending on the size and use of the room, this blue colour is an amazing way to create a splash of colour on the walls. He’s even used it as a full wall colour not as an accent in certain situations like rooms with lots of natural light to brighten it up and pull out the rich blue.
