Market Update: WECAR Names New President
With the home sales market continuing to flourish and still on the rise the Windsor-Essex County Association of Realtors (WECAR) has named its new president for 2021.
Jump Realty’s own Broker of Record Damon Winney, is taking over at the helm of WECAR and joining him is the WECAR Board of Directors for 2021 that will represent the nearly 1,160 agents in the region.
Winney is excited to take over the reins and continue to guide the association as the market remains strong even with the ongoing pandemic. “I look forward to continuing to steer the ship and hopefully grow the association and ensure the success for all of the agents in the area. The market remains strong and we will continue to work to make sure all buyers and sellers are on a level playing field.”
Looking back on the month of November for 2020, real estate listings climbed all the way to 631 properties on market. This was an increase of 9.74% when compared to November 2019. Not only were listings up, property sales were up too. 522 properties sold this past November versus 491 properties that were sold during November of 2019.
In terms of dollars and cents, the average sale price for November 2020 was $420,007. This was an increase from the average sale price of $338,338 from a year ago. The most popular selling home in November was bungalows with 115 sold. Following up was two-storey homes at 83 sold, ranch-style houses at 74 sold, 1 ½-storey homes at 65 sold and raised-ranch style dwellings with 55 sold in November.
